Spicy Brocc
This is how you make the spicy sabazi broccoli from sweetgreen at home (screw the weird tasting kale at sweetgreen). I made this recipe for the first time after seeing Sally Rooney at a Books Are Magic Event for the US release of “Normal People.” Does it get anymore tired millennial than that?
INGREDIENTS
Medium stalk of broccoli, florets & stalks chopped into uniformly smaller-sized pieces
1 Tbsp Coconut Oil, melted
1 Tbsp Sambal Olek (Siracha would work too)
1-2 Large Garlic Cloves, minced/grated
2 Tbsp Soy Sauce
Juice from 1/2 Lemon
Salt & Pepper to taste
STEPS
Heat the oven to 450F
Mix all the liquids and seasonings in a nice, big bowl
Toss the chopped brocc with the sauce and put on a sheet pan (you can use foil if you simply must)
Roast until the broccoli is crispy crispy. 15-20 minutes
Bonus - if you have any sauce left, you can toss it on the cooled down brocc if you like your stuff a little crispy-gone-soggy vibes
